Football Report October 3, 2009

High School Division: Even without their injured star quarterback, Mitchell Faine, the Ada Bulldogs were way too much for the Paulding Panthers, 55-6. Substitute QB Heath Jackson returned the opening kickoff for a TD, and away they went.

Randolph Macon wideout Earl Peoples caught a conference record 20 passes for a school record 295 yards as the Jackets beat Washington & Lee 21-13 on Parents' Day at R-M. Former Ohio Northern All-American Jason Trusnik was AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his play for the NY Jets against the Tennessee Titans last week.

Tough Days: In the oldest rivalry west of the Alleghenies, #10 Cincinnati overcame Miami 37-13. According to the recap, former Ada High star Zac Dysert, in his second start kept Miami in the game with a performance reminiscent of Findlay resident Ben Rothlisberger's. 1. OK, that's two in a row! Arizona state has lost both weeks since you started following them, and this time to a team they have beaten for the last 40 years! And the phenomenon is spreading - now Northern Arizona has beaten Northern Colorado. I'm afriad that I'm going to have to hold you responsible. Keep this up and we are going to have to refuse you access to any of the Arizona teams!

  2. I'm glad that WashU is back to their winning ways! And, Reid and I watched the end of the Wisconsin/Minnesota game. We saw Wisconsin hoist the axe but must've missed them hoisting the slab of pork. ;-)
